For this coward, however, I found myself surprisingly enjoying HELL FEST. I enjoyed the characters and their interactions. The use of a haunted house attraction as the setting was pretty smart and led to a good mix of tension and earned fear releases.

It wasn't anything new, it was old riffs done in a way that was actually quite efficient.... The nastiest is the right level of nasty, the silliness is the right level of silly.

If you've got a friend who isn't into horror movies, this isn't the one that'll change his or her mind, but for someone who's undeniably drawn to the campy slasher sub-genre, this fairly straightforward thrill ride is a good time.
